GreenJackets to Host Local High School Teams

AUGUSTA, GA- The Augusta GreenJackets have released their 2015 Amateur Baseball Series, which will take place over the next two weeks at Lake Olmstead Stadium presented by Georgia Regents University Augusta. As GreenJackets Opening Day moves closer, the team will be hosting Junior Varsity and Varsity games starring Aiken, Strom Thurmond, Fox Creek, North Augusta, and Midland Valley high schools.

"We are excited to partner with local high schools to raise funds and showcase their talents at Lake Olmstead in 2015" stated Tom Denlinger General Manager. "This is a great opportunity that we are excited to offer for high schools to come and experience playing on a professional field."

During each game, junior varsity will play first starting at 5:00pm and the varsity game will follow with a 7:00pm start time.

Game 1:

Monday March 9th - Aiken High School v. Strom Thurmond High School

Game 2:

Wednesday March 11th - Aiken High School v. Fox Creek High School

Game 3:

Wednesday March 18th - North Augusta High School v. Midland Valley High School

Tickets will be $10.00 at the gate for each day of games. This is a fundraiser for the high schools with $3.00 of the proceeds given back to the high school the ticket was purchased from. Fans will be able to use the ticket stub to gain entry into the Augusta GreenJackets home game on Sunday, May 3rd as they take on the Delmarva Shorebirds.

The GreenJackets open their 27th consecutive season of professional baseball in Augusta on Thursday, April 16th against the Rome Braves (Atlanta Braves).
