The 2015 Modesto Nuts promotional schedule will include 23 fireworks shows, one giveaway night and four specialty jerseys. The first of 23 fireworks shows will be on Opening Night, April 16, presented by Sierra Nevada. The opening day festivities will include the kickoff of the Nuts 10 Year Anniversary season presented by Save Mart Supermarkets. Following Opening Day, a post-game fireworks extravaganza will follow after every Friday and Saturday Modesto Nuts home game in 2015.
"Fireworks have been the best promotion in the ballpark in the eyes of our fans as well as at the turnstiles," said Nuts General Manager Tyler Richardson.
"We want to make sure we provide the entertainment that the community wants."
In addition to a post-game fireworks show following every Friday and Saturday night game, each weekend event will feature a specific theme. Popular theme nights returning include:
Â- PHAST Friday Tobacco Education Prevention Night presented by Stanislaus County PHAST Youth Coalition on May 1
Â- Super Heroes Night presented by Doctors Medical Center on May 22
Â- Breast Cancer Awareness Night including the annual Pink Jersey presented by Memorial Medical Center on May 23
Â- Noche de Beisbol presented by Tecate Light on June 5
Â- Go Green Night presented by the City of Modesto, City of Ceres, and Stanislaus County on June 19
Â- Graffiti Night presented by Dust Bowl Brewing Company on June 20
Â- Independence Day Celebration presented by Valley First Credit Union on July 3
Â- Military Appreciation Night presented by Budweiser on July 11
Â- Hometown Heroes Night presented by Crystal Creamery on August 21
Â- Star Wars Night on August 22
Â- Fan Appreciation Night and Cap Giveaway presented by WingStop
Two new promotions include a look back at "what could have been - In honor of the 10-year anniversary of the Nuts name change, we will look back and see "what could have been" if we picked another name. On July 18th, the team will play as the Dusters with specialty hats and uniforms. Taco Bell is the presenting sponsor of this game and proceeds from the Dusters jersey auction will benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Stanislaus County. On August 14 th, the team will play as the Cruisers. These jerseys will also be auctioned off for charity following the game.
Walmart will continue to be the presenting sponsor of Make Mondays Matter. Any fan that donates two items of gently used clothing, two books, or two cans of food will receive a complimentary ticket to that night's game.
One Buck Wednesdays will return to John Thurman Field in 2015. Fans can enjoy $1 hot dogs, $1 soft drinks, and $1 snacks. Select beers will also be available for just $2.
Thursdays at Thurman presented by La Perla Tapatia will feature $2 tacos and $2 Jack Tone wine by McManis Family Vineyards.
The Stanislaus County Department of Child Support Services will sponsor catch on the field Sundays. Families can play catch in the outfield prior to the game for the first 30 minutes after the gates open.
The Modesto Nuts home opener is scheduled for Thursday, April 16th against the Inland Empire 66ers. Ticket packages, starting as small as 5 games, are currently available by calling (209) 572-HITS (4487).
