Birmingham Barons News Release

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Barons are on the lookout for the leading vocal talents in the Birmingham-metro area. Wednesday, March 11 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. the Barons host National Anthem auditions for the 2015 season at Regions Field. All interested candidates are invited to give their best rendition of the anthem for the opportunity to sing prior to a Barons home game this season.

"We are a community-driven operation and there's no better way for us to express that than to give the community a chance to participate in our operation," Barons General Manager Jonathan Nelson said. "Singing the National Anthem at a Barons baseball game can be a memory-making experience."

There is no registration fee for the audition, but candidates will need to fill out a registration form before auditioning. Please do not call the front office to set up an audition time. Candidates will have the opportunity to perform on a first-come, first-serve basis and limited to the first 100 at Regions Field. Participants should arrive no later than 6:45 p.m.

At this time it is undecided how many spots will be available for the 2015 season, but National Anthem singers will receive two complimentary box seats to the game they are selected to perform.

If singers are unavailable or would prefer to submit an audio recording, please send the file to mferko@barons.com. For more information, call the Barons front office at (205) 988-3200.

Birmingham opens the 2015 season Thursday, April 9 as Regions Field hosts the Mobile BayBears at 7:05 p.m. For more information, visit us at www.barons.com, www.facebook.com/birminghambarons or on Twitter: @bhambarons.
