Wolves Announce February Award Winners

Defenceman JONATHAN DUCHESNE has been named the TRAVELODGE COMMUNITY PLAYER OF THE MONTH for his outstanding contribution to the City of Greater Sudbury during the month of February. DUCHESNE participated in numerous community events over the course of the month including two school visits to St. Denis and St. Joseph and participated in the annual Sudbury Wolves Hockey Card autograph session at the New Sudbury Centre. The Brampton, ON native is also set to participate in The Home Depot Backyard Rink promotion tonight. DUCHESNE visited the Samaritan Centre back in January to assist with distributing the evening meal and coffee to those in need and visited children at the hospital in December. He will also be participating in the upcoming March Break Skate with the Wolves on March 16th at the Sudbury Arena. Jonathan is a great ambassador for the Sudbury Wolves Hockey Club and the Wolves are very proud to have Jonathan represent the hockey club in the community of Greater Sudbury.

MOLSON CANADIAN 3-STAR AWARD

Through his standout play throughout the month of February, defenceman KYLE CAPOBIANCO has been awarded the MOLSON CANADIAN 3-STAR AWARD. The Pickering native was named the second star of the game on one occasion and third star twice. In 12 games over the course of the month, CAPOBIANCO scored 3 goals and added 7 assists. He currently sits third in team scoring with 37 points. He was named an Assistant Captain in November and has helped provide much needed leadership on the blueline. The second year defenceman is expected to be drafted in this summer's NHL Entry Draft set to take place in Florida. The Sudbury Wolves would like to congratulate Kyle on his strong performances this past month.

MCDONALD NAPIER AND THOMAS INSURANCE SCHOLASTIC PLAYER OF THE MONTH

Rookie forward MICHAEL PEZZETTA has been named the MCDONALD NAPIER AND THOMAS INSURANCE SCHOLASTIC PLAYER OF THE MONTH for the month of February. Michael completed three courses at Lasalle Secondary School during the fall semester including English, Functions and Physics where he finished with an average of 95%. PEZZETTA notched two assists over the course of February and the Wolves look forward to his continuing to develop both on and off the ice.

RYOBI HARDEST WORKING FORWARD

The RYOBI HARDEST WORKING FORWARD OF THE MONTH is sophomore forward DAVID ZEPPIERI. ZEPPIERI was selected by the Sudbury Wolves in the third round of the 2013 OHL Priority Selection. David works exceptionally hard both on and off the ice. In 53 games with the Wolfpack this season, David has notched 1 goal and added 10 assists. The Sudbury Wolves would like to thank David for his hard work and commitment and look forward to him continuing his development with the Sudbury Wolves.

RYOBI HARDEST WORKING DEFENCEMAN

Rookie defenceman, REAGAN O'GRADY has been named the RYOBI HARDEST WORKING DEFENCEMAN for the month of February. O'GRADY was acquired from the Kingston Frontenacs at the trade deadline and has made a positive impact on the young Wolves' squad in his short time in the Nickel City. The Lindsay, ON native was selected by the Frontenacs in the 1st round of last year's OHL Priority Selection and he is currently the youngest player in the OHL. Reagan will be expected to make a big contribution to the Wolves squad next season and the Sudbury Wolves would like to congratulate Reagan on his hard work this season.

SKATER'S EDGE PLAYER OF THE MONTH

Forward PAVEL JENYS is the winner of the SKATER'S EDGE PLAYER OF THE MONTH award for February. The Czech Republic native has had an exceptional rookie season in the OHL and has transitioned well into the North American playing style. The Minnesota Wild prospect currently leads the team offensively with 41 points in 55 games. JENYS was selected by the Wild in the 7th round of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. . The Sudbury Wolves would like to congratulate Pavel on his strong play not only in February, but he has helped lead the team for a majority of the season.
