Brampton at Wichita, 4-1 W
- After trading goals in the first, Wichita dominated the final two periods en route to a 4-1 win. Danick Gauthier scored the game winner with five minutes left in the second and the Thunder added two more in the third.
Sunday, March 1st
Allen at Wichita, 6-4 L
- Wichita rallied from a three-goal deficit with two in the third period and appeared to tie the game late when Nikita Kashirsky got pushed into Riley Gill. The official determined that the whistle blew before the puck had crossed the line, ending the Thunder's chances to complete the comeback bid.

TIGHT RACE - Wichita earned two points this past weekend and currently sits in fifth place with 57 points. The Thunder are one point behind Tulsa and Rapid City, who are tied for third and six back of Quad City for second place. Wichita has three games in hand on both the Mallards and Rapid City while also having two games in hand on Tulsa.
MAGIC NUMBER - Mike Wilson hit one personal milestone and moved closer to another with two points yesterday. He scored on the power play in the second for his eighth of the season and added an assist on Ian Lowe's power play goal in the third. The North Vancouver, BC native has 100 points (20g, 80a) in 199 ECHL games and needs two more to reach 200 points in his professional career. Wilson is tied for ninth place with 13 power play assists.
DAN THE MAN - Danick Gauthier finished the month of February with a goal on Friday and got off to a good start on Sunday with three assists. He set a new season-high for assists in a game and extended his point-streak to seven (4g, 8a).
KASH MONEY - Nikita Kashirsky scored in both games this weekend and continues to be red hot. He has goals in four-straight and points in his last five (4g, 2a).
POINT LEAD - Ian Lowe became the first player to reach 50 points, recording a goal and an assist on Sunday. His goal late in the third helped Wichita pull within one and moved him into a tie for second place with nine power play goals. Lowe also snapped his nine-game goal scoring drought and has points in his last three (1g, 4a).
IDES OF MARCH - Wichita prepares for a busy March that will make or break the team's hopes at getting into the postseason. Including Sunday's tilt against Allen, the Thunder plays 15 games during the month that includes a seven-game road swing. After Wednesday's final regular season contest against Rapid City, Wichita heads north of the border for three-straight against Brampton that starts on Friday night. After a weekend set against Tulsa and Quad City, Wichita heads down to Dallas for a pair of mid-week games against Allen.

Danick Gauthier is tied for fourth in power play goals (8)...Ian Lowe is in 12th place for shots on goal (169) while Kenton Miller is in 19th (163)...Lowe is tied for 14th place in assists (33)...Wichita is third in the ECHL in penalty minutes (1,189) and is averaging 22.43 per game...Tyler Bunz and Tim Boron are tied for ninth in shutouts (2)...Tim Boron is fourth in the league in minutes played (2,143) and eighth in wins (19)...Wichita is 13th in shots for per game (31.43) and fourth in shots against per game (27.74)...Wichita is 9-2-0-1 when leading after one...Wichita is 13-10-0-0 when tied after one...Wichita is 7-3-1-1 when tied after two periods...Wichita is 13-5-2-5 in one-goal games...
UPCOMING GAMES - Wichita closes its five-game homestand on Wednesday night as the Rapid City Rush come in for the final regular season meeting. Opening face-off starts at 7:05 p.m.
