Madison Capitols News Release
CAPS COME BACK ONCE, TWICE, NOT THREE TIMES
Madison visited the Omaha Lancers for the second and final meeting between the clubs on Friday, Feb. 27 at the Ralston Arena. In front of a sell-out crowd, the homestanding Lancers took one-goal leads in each of the first two periods, but the Capitols clawed back to tie on each occasion on late period goals from Mitch Hults (12) and Daniel Willett (5, PP). However, Omaha was able to pick up the game's deciding goal off the stick of Shane Gersich early in the third before Jimmy Schuldt added an insurance marker to give the Lancers the 4-2 win.
MADISON TO PLAY SIX TIMES IN NEXT 13 NIGHTS
The Capitols (19-17-9) will enter one of their busiest stretches of the 2014-15 season, with a pair of three-game weekends the next two weeks. Madison will play five of those six games away from the Alliant Energy Center, hosting only the Bloomington Thunder at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 8. Madison will visit Cedar Rapids twice (March 6 & 14), Bloomington (March 7), Des Moines (March 13) & Chicago (March 15). The Capitols will then finish the season with five straight home games from March 29 through April 11.
KIDS' DAY SUNDAY AT THE ALLIANT ENERGY CENTER
The Capitols will return home for one game this Sunday, March 8 against the Bloomington Thunder to complete a home-and-home set. The 3 p.m. matinee is part of Kids' Day festivities at the Alliant Energy Center. Kids can get in at a discounted rate, and the Capitols, as well as D.C. Eagle, will skate and meet/greet the fans after the game on the ice. Tickets are available via Ticketmaster.com, www.madcapshockey.com, or by calling (608) 257-CAPS (2277).
*Fans interested in public skate must bring their own skates*
