WEEK IN REVIEW

The Oilers concluded their season series against the Rush with a pair of games in Rapid City last weekend. On Friday night, the Oilers survived a late third period comeback by the Rush and posted a 6-5 overtime victory. Tulsa defenseman Dave Pszenyczny netted the game-winning goal with just 15 seconds remaining in the extra session to give his squad a fifth consecutive win.

Saturday, the Oilers saw their six-game road win streak come to an end in a 6-2 setback to the Rush. Cody Ferriero recorded two goals and an assist for Rapid City and the Oilers managed just 23 shots on net. Tulsa finished the 12-game series against Rapid City with a 5-6-1 record and ended the weekend tied with the Rush for third place in the Central Division.

FAREWELL TO FEBRUARY

The Oilers ended February with a 6-5-0 record and have posted winning records in four of the five months of the season. Tulsa lost the first three games of the month but rebounded to win six of the next eight and climb back into the thick of the playoff chase.

HOME STRETCH

As the Oilers prepare for the final six weeks of the regular season, they find themselves in a heated battle with three other teams for the final three playoff spots in the Central Division. Tulsa is five points back of second-place Quad City, tied with Rapid City, and one point up on fifth-place Wichita. Here is a breakdown of the Oilers' remaining schedule against those teams:

Quad City - 3 games (0 home, 3 away)

Rapid City - 0 games

Wichita - 5 games (1 home, 4 away)

STREAK SNAPPED

Tulsa winger T.J. Caig saw his nine-game point streak come to an end on Friday night in Rapid City. Caig, who was tied with Drew Fisher for the longest point streak of the season, put up four goals and eight assists during his stellar nine-game run. The Kelowna, British Columbia native ranks fourth on the Oilers squad with 49 points (17 goals, 32 assists) and in 106 games in a Tulsa uniform, Caig has recorded 104 points.

FIRST-YEAR PHENOM

Center Jeff Jubinville is playing his way into the discussion for ECHL Rookie of the Year. With 45 points (21 goals, 24 assists), Jubinville ranks third in the league's rookie scoring race behind only Tyler Barnes of Toledo (52 points) and Greg Wolfe of Alaska (48 points). The Edmonton, Alberta native is on a five-game point streak and ranks second on the Oilers' roster with a +18 rating.

CENTURY MARK

Jake Obermeyer slipped on the Oilers' sweater for the 100th time on Saturday in Rapid City. The 30-year old defenseman appeared in 47 games during the 2013-14 campaign and has suited up in 53 of the 55 games this season. A veteran of more than 300 professional contests, Obermeyer has 21 points (5 goals, 16 assists) in 100 games with Tulsa.

MAKING THE BEST OF THE BONUS

With a 6-5 overtime victory in Rapid City on Friday, the Oilers improved to 8-4 in games decided beyond regulation. Tulsa is 3-1 in contests decided in overtime and 5-3 in shootouts. Only three teams - Wheeling, Greenville, and Colorado - have a better winning percentage than the Oilers in games that go past the 60-minute mark.

ROAD RESULTS

The Oilers' recent six-game road win streak, snapped Saturday in Rapid City, is tied for the longest road win streak of the Bruce Ramsay era. Last season, Tulsa ripped off six consecutive road victories between February 11 and March 1 to climb back into playoff contention and the timing of this year's run is remarkably similar. Over the course of the recent streak, the Oilers outscored their opponents 28-13.

FLIPPED OFF

After scoring five power play goals in the previous four games, the Oilers went 0-for-6 on the power play in Saturday's loss to Rapid City. The Oilers were blanked on the man-advantage for just the second time in the last ten games.

PENALTIES CREATING PROBLEMS

The Oilers allowed two power play goals to Rapid City on Saturday and finished the month of February at just 73.3-percent on the penalty kill. Since starting the second half of the season, Tulsa has tasted penalty kill perfection in only four of 19 games.

LOOKING AHEAD

Tulsa's season-long, eight-game road trip concludes this week with a Tuesday tilt in Missouri and a Wednesday night battle in Quad City. The Oilers are 1-5-1 against the Mavericks this season and have been outscored 13-6 over their last three trips to the Independence Events Center. The Oilers are 2-2-1 against the Mallards and four of the five previous encounters have been decided by a single goal.

EXTRA DROPS

The Oilers have been held to under 30 shots in three straight games...Eric Tallent scored his first goal of the season on Friday night with a shorthanded tally in the second period...Tommy Mele had his four-game goal streak snapped on Saturday...Drew Fisher has 11 points (1 goal, 10 assists) and a +5 rating in the last five games...Matt Larke has 14 of his 21 points in the second half of the season.
