Lumberjacks Hit Trade Deadline Deal with Des Moines, Add Schueneman and Drevitch

MUSKEGON, Michigan (March 2nd) - With the United States Hockey League's (USHL) 2014-15 trade deadline approaching its official conclusion at the end of the day, the Muskegon Lumberjacks have announced a trade in which the organization has acquired Defenseman Corey Schueneman, Forward Tyler Drevitch, and a player to be named later from the Des Moines Buccaneers in exchange for Forward Jack Rowe, Defenseman Liam McGing, and two players to be named later.

Schueneman, the Milford, Michigan native, was a 4th round pick at 46th overall by the Lumberjacks during the 2011 USHL Futures Draft before being traded to the Buccaneers during the 2012-13 season. In 130 career games played with Des Moines, Schueneman recorded 20 goals and 53 assists that includes currently leading all USHL defensemen this season in both points (39) and goals scored (14) along with ranking third in assists (25) through 45 games. The Western Michigan commit and former Little Caesars product made his USHL debut as a member of the Lumberjacks back on November 24th, 2012.

Drevitch, the Middleboro, Massachusetts native, comes to Muskegon after skating in 46 games this season with the Buccaneers totaling one goal and three assists during his current rookie USHL campaign. The Merrimack commit was a 12th round selection at 187th overall by Des Moines during the 2014 USHL Phase II Draft. Prior to being a USHL draft pick, Drevitch spent the 2010-11 season with the Bridgewater Bandits junior program followed by three seasons from 2011-14 with the Boston Jr. Bandits junior organization.

Schueneman and Drevitch will suit up for the Lumberjacks beginning this weekend when the team travels to Sioux City, Iowa to take on the Musketeers this coming Friday and Saturday.

Rowe, the Cary, Illinois native, skated in 60 games as a Lumberjack after being picked up in a trade from the Fargo Force in early February of last season amassing 23 goals and 12 assists to go with a plus-one rating. In now his fourth full season in the USHL, Rowe has accumulated 51 goals and 47 assists through 180 games.

McGing, the Chicago, Illinois native, played in 46 games for Muskegon this season registering two goals and two assists after being dealt from the Chicago Steel back in late September before the regular season began. To date during his two seasons in the league, McGing has notched two goals and nine assists through 88 games combined between Chicago and Muskegon.

Both Rowe and McGing have a commitment to play collegiately for the Sun Devils of Arizona State University following their respective junior careers.
