INDEPENDENCE, MO (March 1, 2015)- The Missouri Mavericks finished their weekend series against the Quad City Mallards with a 3-2 shootout victory in Moline, IL. Net minder Josh Robinson made thirty-five saves through sixty-five minutes between the pipes for Missouri, and blocked all four shootout attempts by the Mallards.
The Mallards were first to strike at 16:16 of the first period, unassisted, to give the home team a 1-0 lead.
Missouri made their move in the second period, recording seventeen shots on goal and notching two power play goals. Landon Oslanski tied the game 1-1 at 6:50 of the frame, with assists from Jack Downing and Josh Brittain. Pearce Eviston split the Mavs goals to give the lead back to Quad City at 10:18 with their own power play tally, before Sebastien Thinel got the equalizer at 12:15 for a 2-2 game that would last through the end of regulation. Assists on Thinel's power play goal were credited to Oslanski and Downing.
