Allen Americans News Release

Allen, Texas- The Allen Americans picked up a point tonight in a crushing 6-5 defeat at the hands of the Brampton Beast, as the Americans dropped one in front of a huge crowd of 5,816 at Allen Event Center.

Chad Painchaud earned the number one star of the game netting a hat trick, his 4th of the season that included the game winner in overtime. Teammate Jason Pitton had two goals and an assist to earn the second star, while Chad Costello had three helpers in a losing effort for Allen. Costello is now the all-time single season scoring leader with 90 points.

The Americans gave up the lead on three different occasions tonight, however they did have some late third period magic once again as Kevin Young tied the game late in the final period, as he buried one from the high-slot with nine seconds left in regulation to even the score at 5-5. However the Americans would be denied that second point, losing their sixth straight game on home ice.

"We made too many mistakes tonight," said Americans Assistant Coach Kevin Colley, in a postgame interview on the Americans Radio Broadcast. "Brampton has some good players that can beat you and tonight they did just that."

The Americans are right back at it tomorrow afternoon at 5:05 pm from Wichita. With the point, Allen remains one point ahead of Fort Wayne for the most points in the ECHL.
