The Americans got off to a solid start, as they were able to control the puck and get a majority of the shots to start the game. But Spokane was able to get the first goal, as Jackson Playfair fired the puck towards the net, which deflected off a Tri-City defender and into the net for a 1-0 Spokane lead. Tri-City started off the second period the same as the first, controlling the puck well, but wasn't able to get any quality chances. The Chiefs got on the board again midway through the second on a goal from Adam Helewka to put Spokane up 2-0 after two periods.

Spokane increased the lead early in the third, as Riley Whittingham slapped home a loose puck to put the Chiefs ahead 3-0. The Americans tried to get something going, but were unable to gather any momentum. The Chiefs capped off the win with a late power play goal from Nic Charif to seal the victory.
