Marlies Battle Back against Amerks for 4-3 Victory

The Toronto Marlies and Rochester Americans engaged in a penalty filled game Friday night that would require overtime to solve. A total of 17 minor penalties in regulation set the tone for a hard fought win for the Marlies. After finding themselves down by three goals, the Marlies would score three straight in the second to tie the game. Greg McKegg opened the scoring for the Marlies, while Byron Froese followed up with a shorthanded goal along with an even strength marker to knot the game at 3-3. Play continued deep into overtime until Greg McKegg returned to the score sheet, scoring the game winner.

Toronto next game is tomorrow when they close their two game road trip in Adirondack. The Marlies next home game is March 6th when they open start a three in three weekend against the Adirondack Flames. Tickets can be purchased at marlies.ca/tickets or by calling 416-597-PUCK (7825).
