Dexter Jackson Returns to Storm

TAMPA BAY - The Tampa Bay Storm is pleased to announce that mac linebacker Dexter Jackson has returned for his second season in a Storm uniform.

"Dexter is an important piece to our defense," said Storm head coach Lawrence Samuels. "He's an AFL veteran that brings a great deal of experience both on and off the field."

Jackson (6-foot-2, 270 lbs., Bethune-Cookman) joins the Storm for his second season in the blue and gold. The 2014 season saw Jackson play on both sides of the ball at the fullback and mac linebacker positions. The ironman started in 18-of-18 games during the 2014 season, finishing third on the team with three sacks. The Jacksonville native finished 2014 with 15 tackles, three sacks and a pass breakup. He also saw time at fullback, carrying the ball 29 times for 63 yards and four touchdowns.

"It's great to be back with the Storm," said Jackson. "I'm looking forward to getting back out there with my teammates and helping the team in any way possible."

The four -year AFL veteran began his professional career with the Milwaukee Mustangs in 2011. He spent two seasons in Milwaukee before moving on to the Orlando Predators in 2013. For his career, Jackson has started in 46-of-56 games played and tallied 57 tackles, 11 sacks, three pass breakups, three fumble returns, a forced fumble and an interception.

The Five-Time World Champion Tampa Bay Storm enters its 28th season in the Arena Football League. The Storm calls AMALIE Arena its home where it plays all home games on AMALIE Motor Oil Field.
