Kane County Cougars News Release

GENEVA, Ill. - The Kane County Cougars, with the help of their fans and social media followers, have announced the name for the organization's specialty Cougars craft beer. "Raging Cougar Ale", created by Warrenville-based Two Brothers Brewing Company, was the consensus name as chosen by fans in a beer-naming campaign through the Cougars' social media channels.

The beer is the first of its kind as the Cougars are the first organization in the 16-team Midwest League to feature its own branded beer. Through a partnership with their Major League affiliate, the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Cougars are believed to be the first team across all of Minor League Baseball to have their own branded beer available at the ballpark of their big league affiliate.

Best described as a light and hoppy pale ale, golden in color with a nutty, caramel malt flavor, Raging Cougar Ale will be available and on tap at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark for Cougars games beginning Opening Night on April 9, the Two Brothers Tap House in Warrenville and Round House in Aurora, as well as at Chase Field, home of the Arizona Diamondbacks and Two Brothers' new Tap House and Brewery Restaurant in Scottsdale, Arizona. Also during Cougars games this season, a "Beer Batter" promotion will feature Raging Cougar Ale and further extend the Cougars' partnership with Two Brothers Brewing Company.

Last week, the Cougars kicked off a beer-naming campaign through social media that allowed fans to vote on one of three pre-selected beer finalist names - Grand Slam Ale, Home Run Ale and Raging Cougar Ale - or submit their own beer name to be considered by Cougars staff. Throughout the campaign, randomly selected Cougars social media followers who participated won unique prizes including tickets to Opening Night on April 9, a ceremonial first pitch, a ceremonial first "pour" and first "toast" of the season with Cougars and Two Brothers representatives on the field, and prizes courtesy of Two Brothers Brewing Company and the Arizona Diamondbacks.

"Today's announcement is the result of a tremendous partnership that we share with Two Brothers Brewing Company and the Arizona Diamondbacks", said Cougars owner Dr. Bob Froehlich. "For this beer to be the first of its kind in baseball circles is truly unique, and we are thrilled with the response and excitement by our fans towards the final product and name."

"This project symbolizes our commitment to our local Chicagoland community," said Jason Ebel, co-owner of Two Brothers Brewing Company. "We have enjoyed working with the Kane County Cougars and strengthening our existing partnership through this opportunity, supporting one of our favorite pastimes."

"We're extremely excited to partner with the Kane County Cougars for this new product which will be available at Chase Field beginning this season," said Arizona Diamondbacks President and CEO Derrick Hall. "Today's announcement deepens the special relationship that exists between the D-backs and Cougars organizations."
