Bowling Green Hot Rods News Release

Bowling Green, Ky. - After already unveiling the daily promotions schedule and booking the appearance of a certain dancing football player/commercial star, the Bowling Green Hot Rods (Class-A/Tampa Bay Rays) are pleased to announce their full 2015 promotional calendar. Fortunately for fans of fun, those who thought the 2014 campaign could get no more entertaining will be proven wrong. Between fireworks shows, post-game concerts, and an unprecedented amount of giveaways, Bowling Green Ballpark will be the premier destination of fun this summer in South-Central Kentucky.

"A baseball season presents a unique challenge of cramming a year's worth of fun into a 70-game schedule," said Hot Rods Chief Operating Officer and General Manager Adam Nuse. "Our off-season events help keep us sharp for the baseball season, and this year we've packed an unbelievable amount of awesome fun into the promo calendar. Every visit to Bowling Green Ballpark will offer something new, whether it's a free t-shirt, a hat, fireworks show, a concert, there's just so much that we're bringing to the park this season. Opening Night may be a little over seven weeks away, but we're ready to get the fun going."

The Hot Rods home opener is set for Saturday, April 18. Opening Night presented by Reinhart Foodservice will see the Lake County Captains (Cleveland Indians) visit. XPogo is set to perform during the game, and a post-game fireworks show will follow. The schedule is highlighted by 17 fireworks shows, seven hat giveaways, national acts that have never been brought to Bowling Green Ballpark, and post-game concerts.

The 17 post-game fireworks shows is nearly a 50% increase from last season, representing nearly a quarter of all home games. The show has been upgraded to be brighter, louder, and longer. No other spot in South-Central Kentucky will bring the boom to the fans quite like the Hot Rods this season. Whether it's Independence Day, Opening Night, or a Friday night, downtown Bowling Green will be regularly illuminated this season. National acts that have never entertained crowds at Bowling Green Ballpark will make their debut this season, starting with XPogo on Opening Night. Shortly after, the Inflatamaniacs will take the field between innings on Friday, April 24.

Giveaways are also ramped up this year, with the return of T-Shirt Tuesday presented by All About You Urgent Clinic, but also the addition of a series of seven hat giveaways. Perhaps the most unique will occur on Tuesday, May 5, when fans will have their choice of a Hot Rods sombrero or Cinco de Mayo t-shirt. Perhaps the most multi-functional hat giveaway will take place on Thursday, July 16 as it will feature a bottle-opener on the cap. Other hat giveaways in the series of seven include a patriotic version, camo-style, and hats honoring Western Kentucky University, and the Universities of Kentucky and Louisville.

Hawk Nelson will be the first major concert on Saturday, April 25, and it will be a part of the first Faith and Family Night of the season presented by Christian Family Radio. It will be the lid lifter of three Faith and Family Nights, but the concerts do not stop there. The highly-acclaimed Spazmatics will take the post-game stage on Saturday, May 9. That night will also be the first Super TV Saturday powered by McGown TV. A lucky fan will head home with a brand-new 32-inch television.

It's not every night you can go the ballpark and hear bad British accents, see princesses walking around the concourse, or even decide the fate of Nickelback music, but a whole host of theme nights are planned for the 2015 season making all that and more possible. A recent influx of snow has pushed back the release date for students across the area, and the Hot Rods will pay homage on Wednesday, May 27. From 80's night, Superhero Night, all the way to Love Litigating Lawyers Night, there will be a theme night for everyone this season.

Whether a fan is looking for fireworks, a free t-shirt, hat, or just a theme night to have fun at, the Hot Rods have it all this summer. For full promotional details, fans can visit BGHotRods.com, or call 270-901-2121. With Opening Night just around the corner, there has been no better time to purchase a money-saving season ticket package that will guarantee a seat at all of these great events.

Fans don't have to wait until Saturday, April 18 to see baseball at Bowling Green Ballpark. Western Kentucky University will serve as the opening baseball act on Tuesday, March 24 when they take on the University of Kentucky Wildcats. The Hot Rods will play WKU in an exhibition presented by Campus Pointe Apartments on Tuesday, April 7. For more information about these games, the promotional calendar, or anything else Hot Rods, please visit BGHotRods.com, call 270-901-2121, or folks can stop by the ballpark in downtown Bowling Green.
