February 23, 2015 - Southern League (SL1)
Biloxi Shuckers News Release

Biloxi, Miss - The Biloxi Shuckers and 95.3 Gorilla will conduct open national anthem auditions at Edgewater Mall in Biloxi on Saturday, March 14, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The chosen singers will perform the national anthem at Shuckers home games during the 2015 season.

The contest will be judged by personalities from 95.3 Gorilla and the Shuckers. Contestants will be judged on accuracy, style, quality of voice and stage presence.

There is no appointment necessary and performers will audition in the order in which they arrive. Performers are encouraged to bring a performance resume, although it is not mandatory.

The tryout is open to all area singers and musicians, allowing Shuckers fans the unique chance to be a valuable part of the gameday atmosphere.

Choirs and larger groups are welcome to sign up to perform our National Anthem at games without trying out. Musical instrument accompaniment is OK, but the audition itself may require vocals to be a cappella.

Participants will be judged on a cappella and acoustic instrumental renditions only, as no electric or amplified instruments can be utilized for gameday performances. In addition, any tryout participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during the audition.

Performers can park at the Edgewater Mall at no charge, located on Beach Boulevard (Highway 90). For more information, please log on to biloxishuckers.com.

Media interested in attending the National Anthem auditions are asked to RSVP with Cristina Coca in the Shuckers Media Department at ccoca@biloxishuckers.com
