Saginaw Falls to Belleville 6-1

The Saginaw Spirit fell to the Belleville Bulls on their second road game of the weekend at Yardmen Arena 6-1.
The Belleville Bulls headed into the locker room up 5-1 over the Saginaw Spirit after 20 minutes of play. Brett Gustavsen, Brett Welychka, Maurizio Colelle, Adam Bignell, and Michael Cramarossa tallied the five goals for the Bulls respectively. Saginaw was able to slice into the lead held by the Bulls with a goal by Kris Bennett, his seventh of the season 11 minutes into the first period. Assisting him was Connor Brown and Michael Holmes. Shots on goal were even at nine for the first frame.
The second period saw the Spirit and Bulls trade power plays but neither could capitalize off of the man advantage so the score remained 5-1 in favor of the Bulls. The teams headed into the locker rooms with shots on goal favoring Saginaw 11-9 for the second period.
The Bulls added one more goal before the last 20 minutes of regulation were completed. Niki Petti was credited with the goal for Belleville, which had the final score reading 6-1. Final shots on goal read Saginaw 30, Belleville 24.

The Saginaw Spirit finishes out their road trip at Rogers K-Rock Centre on Sunday afternoon, February 22nd at 2:00 p.m. The Spirit returns home to the Dow Event Center Friday, February 27th to take on the Ottawa 67's for Teacher Appreciation Night with a face-off time of 7:11 p.m.
