Broncos Defeat Rebels 4-2

SWIFT CURRENT, SK - The Rebels dropped a 4-2 decision against the Broncos in Swift Current Friday evening.

The Rebels took advantage of an early power play and scored just 36 seconds into the game when Wyatt Johnson banged home a loose puck. It was 1-0 for Red Deer. The Broncos tied it up at 6:33 of the first period on a goal by Colby Cave. The Rebels scored just 18 seconds later; Meyer Nell gave the Rebels a 2-1 lead. That was the score after one period.

The Broncos got the only goal in the second period, Coda Gordon scored and it was 2-2. It remained 2-2 after two periods.

The Broncos got the game winner at 7:17 of the third period, Jordan Thomson fired one from the point and it found its way through traffic in front of the Rebels net. Glenn Gawdin added an empty net goal to make it 4-2 for the Broncos.

Taz Burman made 18 saves in the Rebels net, Landon Bow made 35 saves in the Broncos goal.

The Rebels were 1 for 3 on the power play and killed 3 of 4 shorthanded situations.

The Rebels are in Regina on Saturday, the broadcast on 106.7 The Drive begins at 5:50PM.
