Orangeville A's News Release

LONDON, On. - The Brampton A's took on the London Lightning in a much anticipated match Thursday night. In a battle for playoff home court advantage, the A's defeated the Lightning 110-102 on the road. The A's sit at 15-14 for second place in the Central Division.

Brampton battled the boards in the first half to hold a slight edge heading in to the locker room at the half. Ball movement and utilizing the paint worked in the A's favour as London shot ideally from beyond the arc.

Akeem Ellis led Brampton at the half with 12 points, while Marques Oliver added 10. Kyle Johnson notched seven early rebounds.

The A's faced an aggressive Lightning team during the third period, until Zane Johnson caught fire from three-point range. Brampton's offensive rhythm, despite being in foul trouble, propelled them to a 14 point advantage midway through the final stint. Although London answered with a few big shots of their own, the A's teamwork was apparent in a very crucial victory at Budweiser Gardens.

TyShwan Edmondson led the A's with 19 points and nine rebounds, while Ellis finished with 18 points. Ashton Smith recorded a game-high eight assists.

The A's will host the Windsor Express this Saturday at 7pm for Caribbean Night. For more information about the Island celebration visit www.bramptonas.ca.
