PFL and City Futsal Combine for PFL Youth Futsal Challenge

FRISCO, TX - The Professional Futsal League's mission extends far beyond the professional futsal arena and encompasses the next generation of futsal players.
In order to reach the young athlete, the PFL and City Futsal, a Dallas-area futsal company, joined forces to create the PFL Youth Futsal Challenge powered by City Futsal.
The tournament will coincide with the PFL International Challenge powered by USA Futsal the weekend of March 13.
"One of the many reasons for starting the PFL was the huge grassroots youth futsal programs developing in the United States," PFL Commissioner Keith Tozer said. "This is a great opportunity for youth players to enjoy playing futsal in a competitive environment and then watch three great teams perform during our PFL International Challenge powered by USA Futsal. A big "Thank You' to City Futsal for becoming a partner in this historical event, which will hopefully showcase future stars emerging for our national teams as well as the PFL."
All the participants will receive tickets to attend the PFL International Challenge powered by USA Futsal. The teams will be presented in a pre-game parade on March 13 prior to the FC Barcelona versus PFL Team USA match.
The finals of one age division will be played prior to the FC Barcelona versus PFL Team Mexico game on March 14.
City Futsal owner Federico Mariel said City Futsal is at the forefront of youth futsal player development in the U.S. and as such is the perfect grassroots partner for the PFL.
"Incorporating a youth component to the PFL event is a step in the right direction," Mariel said. "In order for the game of futsal to strive, it's important for there to be a strong youth futsal development program that supports it, ensuring that the game is played the right way, and there are quality players coming up and feeding the rosters of the pro teams."

When: 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, March 13 (Group Play); 8-11 a.m.; 6-8 p.m. Saturday, March 14 (Finals)
