Titans & Barnstormers to Battle in Inaugural "Iowa Bowl"

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA : History will be made in Cedar Rapids on Saturday, February 28th as the Titans will host the visiting Iowa Barnstormers for the first time in franchise history. This will also be the Barnstormers first ever Indoor Football League game since making the move from the Arena Football League.
In what's being called the "Iowa Bowl", both teams hope that the new rivalry continues to drum up support for the league and the sport. The 2015 "Iowa Bowl" will be a home-and-home series and will include a traveling Iowa Bowl Trophy. The second portion of the "Iowa Bowl" will occur on Saturday, May 16 on the Barnstormers home turf in Wells Fargo Arena. "It's an honor to play a storied franchise like the Barnstormers," said Titans Co-Owner & General Manager Chris Kokalis. "This should be a great rivalry for both of our fan bases."
The Barnstormers are entering their 20th season. The Des Moines based franchise is where Cedar Rapids native and future NFL Hall of Famer Kurt Warner got his professional career started. In 1996 and 1997 Kurt led Iowa to AFL Arena Bowl appearances. His number was later retired by the Barnstormers. Warner isn't the only Barnstormers tie to the Cedar Rapids area. Barnstormers Head Coach Joe Brannen attended and played college football at Coe College.
Tickets for the game are on sale now at the US Cellular Center box office and online at ticketmaster.com starting at just $8. Their will be activities for the entire family including live music, live performances, autograph signings, giveaways, special guest appearances, and much more.
