The Penguins made it 2-0 with Uher's second of the game less than six minutes later when the forward sent a wrist shot from the right wing faceoff circle past Greenham. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton outshot Binghamton 16-12 in the first 20 minutes to take the two-goal advantage into the intermission break.

Conor Sheary made it 3-0 with a power-play goal just 3:32 into the second off assists from Tom Kostopoulos and Scott Wilson. Binghamton managed to cut the host's lead to 3-1 with less than four minutes to play when Aaron Johnson jumped a pass in the neutral zone and beat the Penguin's Jeff Zatkoff for his first goal in the last 43 games played for the Binghamton captain. The teams traded nine shots each in the middle frame as the Penguins went into the final break with a 3-1 lead.

Binghamton failed to maintain pressure in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's zone through the final 20 minutes of play recording just six shots on goal in the period. Bobby Farnham put the game out of reach for the B-Sens with less than three minutes to play in regulation as he completed a 2-on-1 rush with Matia Marcantuoni to push the final score to 4-1.

The Binghamton Senators did not disappoint the 8,559 fans at the Canadian Tire Centre as they witnessed the club explode for four goals in the final period to claim a 5-2 win over the Toronto Marlies. The B-Sens took the first leg of a home-and-home set at each team's respective National Hockey League affiliate's arena.

Colin Greening got Binghamton off to a fast start just 27 seconds into the opening frame when he took a feed from Derek Grant behind the net and one-timed it past Antoine Bibeau for his second goal of the year. Toronto responded just past the three-minute mark when Connor Brown beat B-Sens' Greenham for his 15th of the year. The teams went to the first intermission tied 1-1 with Binghamton outshooting the Marlies 14-12.

Toronto managed to control the puck for most of the second frame as they outshot Binghamton 15-4. However, Greenham made clutch save after clutch save to keep the game even through 40 minutes.

With an early power-play chance in the third period, the B-Sens took a 2-1 lead off of Carter Camper's seventh tally of the year just over two minutes into the frame. Binghamton doubled its lead to 3-1 with less than six minutes to play as Jean-Gabriel Pageau completed a great short-handed rush with Buddy Robinson and Chris Wideman for his second short-handed marker and ninth overall on the year. Toronto responded just seven seconds later when Ryan Rupert grabbed his sixth of the season off a cross-ice feed from Brown to make it 3-2. Binghamton needed less than three minutes to regain their two-goal cushion as Cole Schneider completed a tic-tac-toe sequence on the power play between Wideman and Puempel. With just under 1:10 to play in the period, the B-Sens put the game out of reach when Pageau grabbed his second short-handed goal on an open net to push the final score to 5-2.

The B-Sens grabbed the 2-1 lead with just over two minutes remaining when Garrett Thompson redirected a feed from Darren Kramer past Christopher Gibson for his fourth tally of the year. Each team recorded nine shots on goal in the opening 20 minutes of play with Binghamton taking the one-goal lead into the first intermission.

Toronto struck just 36 seconds into the middle period to even the score 2-2 when Josh Leivo put home a rebounded puck off an initial save by Mannino for his sixth of the year. The Marlies took their first lead of the night with a delayed penalty call coming against the Sens. With Gibson on the bench in favor of the sixth-attacker, Troy Bodie found Rupert on the backside of the crease and beat Mannino for his first of the night. Toronto made it 4-2 with less than five minutes to play in the period off of Rupert's second of the game to take the two-goal lead into the final intermission.

The B-Sens managed to tie up the game 4-4 following two goals that came 33 seconds apart. The first goal was from Derek Grant on a power-play opportunity.
