Free, Family Fun of SpikesFest Less Than Three Weeks Away

(STATE COLLEGE, PA) - SpikesFest 2015, the State College Spikes' annual indoor winter carnival, is now less than three weeks away. The ninth annual event will take place on Saturday, March 7 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Penn State Indoor Multi-Sport Facility, located just across Dauer Drive from the Bryce Jordan Center. SpikesFest 2015 is presented by Mount Nittany Health, 95.3 FM 3WZ and WTAJ, Your News Leader.

Admission is free for fans of all ages. Parking will be available in Lot 44, next to the Multi-Sport Facility.

The State College area's premier winter family activity will bring the fun and excitement of Medlar Field at Lubrano Park indoors with a wide array of ballpark activities. SpikesFest 2015 will feature inflatable games, kids activities, video games, mascot appearances, performances by local entertainment groups, unique experiences, door prizes, and ticket specials. Plus, fans 18 and older will have the chance to win a brand new KIA, courtesy of Lion Country KIA.

"Get Active Community Sign-Up" at Spikes Fest 2015

In partnership with Mount Nittany Health, SpikesFest will once again feature the "Get Active Community Sign-Up Event," which aims to provide the community with a one-stop opportunity to gather information and sign up for sports leagues, fitness activities, races, and other events during the spring and summer months.

Any community group, sports league, or non-profit organization interested in the free opportunity to distribute information and conduct sign ups as part of SpikesFest 2015 should contact Ben Love with the Spikes at (814) 272-0312 or by e-mail at blove@statecollegespikes.com.

Silent Auction to Benefit The Foundation for Mount Nittany Medical Center

SpikesFest 2015 will feature a silent auction of sports memorabilia and entertainment experiences with all proceeds to benefit The Foundation for Mount Nittany Medical Center. The auction will feature a number of affordable items from local sponsors and attractions, as well as collectible items featuring Penn State, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia sports legends. A full list of items up for bids will be available at www.StateCollegeSpikes.com prior to the auction.

Fans will also be afforded the opportunity to purchase ticket packages and experiences, including the SpikesFest Suite Special, available from March 2 to March 13. The special will allow groups to book a 20-person suite for any game in the 2015 season, subject to availability, with two complimentary Spikes Meal Deals already included, providing a $260 value. Spikes Meal Deals come in four varieties, with entrées and side dishes designed to provide suite guests with fantastic food options during the game.

Larger groups can book a 40-person suite and receive four Spikes Meal Deals (a $520 value), or book an 80-person suite and receive eight Spikes Meal Deals (a $1,040 value).

The 2015 home schedule opens on Friday, June 19. The Spikes, the Class-A Short-Season affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals and the defending New York-Penn League champions, will host 38 nights of fun, affordable family entertainment and future Major League Baseball stars through September 6.
