WEEK IN REVIEW

Tuesday night in Missouri, a slow start doomed the Oilers in a 7-3 loss to the Mavericks. The Mavs tallied twice on the power play in the first period and netted three goals in the span of six minutes in the second period to break the game open. Mike Clemente turned aside 37 of Tulsa's 40 shots on goal and Missouri forwards Andrew Courtney and Lindsay Sparks each recorded two goals. The Oilers suffered a third straight loss and fell to 1-5-1 this season against the Mavericks.

Tulsa goalie Kevin Carr turned in a 39-save performance in Quad City on Friday night and the Oilers held off the Mallards for a 2-1 win at iWireless Center. Drew Fisher scored on a 5-on-3 power play in the first period and Brady Ramsay's first goal as an Oiler proved to be the game-winner as Tulsa snapped a four-game road losing streak.

In the rematch with Quad City on Saturday at the BOK Center, the Oilers had a pair of apparent goals wiped away by the officials and failed to overcome a three-goal deficit in a 3-2 loss. Mallards' goalie Evan Mosher made 30 saves and Mario Lamoureux registered a goal and an assist to lead Quad City's offensive effort. Tulsa center Jon Booras recorded two points as the Oilers dropped their third straight home game.

BEAST MODE

Tulsa cruised to a convincing 4-0 win over Brampton on Monday afternoon in the first game of a two-game series against the Beast. Kevin Carr earned his second shutout of the season with 28 saves and Jon Booras scored twice to help the Oilers improve to 5-0-0 against the Beast this season. After allowing a power play goal in seven consecutive outings, the Oilers went 6-for-6 on the penalty kill and successfully eliminated a lengthy 5-on-3 Beast advantage during the second period. Tommy Mele and T.J. Caig each chipped in two assists while Kyle Bochek and Jeff Jubinville also found the net for Tulsa.

JONNY BE GOOD

Veteran center Jon Booras has posted four points (3 goals, 1 assist) in the last two games and has put up multiple points in five of his last eight appearances. Monday in Brampton, the 32-year old scored two goals in a game for the first time since November 23. Booras ranks second on the squad in goals (19) and points (49) and is tied for 10th in the ECHL scoring race.

CAIG STAND-ING OUT

Right wing T.J. Caig extended his point streak to six games on Monday afternoon by chipping in a pair of assists in the Oilers' triumph over the Beast. The Kelowna, British Columbia native has a goal and six assists over the course of his current streak which is tied for the second-longest streak of any Oiler this season.

DOOR SLAMMER

Rookie goalie Kevin Carr has allowed only four goals in his last three starts. In those three appearances, Carr has a 1.34 goals against average and a .956 save percentage. The 24-year old has been between the pipes for 19 of Tulsa's 23 wins this season and ranks second in the ECHL in minutes played.

ONE DOWN, SEVEN TO GO

Monday's tilt in Brampton marked the first of eight straight road games for the Oilers. In a stretch of two and a half weeks (February 16 through March 4), the Oilers will visit every team in the Central Division. Tulsa is 9-10-2 away from home and is riding a two-game road winning streak for just the third time this season. The Oilers won't skate in front of their home crowd until March 13 and have only seven home games remaining on the schedule.

CENTURY MARK

Oilers captain Nathan Lutz scored the 100th goal of his pro career on Saturday against Quad City. A 14-year veteran, Lutz has registered goals in seven different leagues across North America and Europe and has totaled 375 points in 815 career games. The Oilers' defenseman just celebrated his 37th birthday last week and ranks 18th among all ECHL blue-liners with 26 points (5 goals, 21 assists).

PENALTIES PILING UP

In the last two games the Oilers have racked up 76 penalty minutes, their highest two-game total in nearly two months. Tulsa has accumulated at least 20 penalty minutes in six of its last seven games and is one of only six teams in the league to average more than 20 penalty minutes per game. More penalties means more power play time for the opposition and the Oilers have surrendered a power play goal in seven of their last eight games.

EXTRA DROPS

After missing three games due to illness, Eric Tallent returned to the Tulsa lineup on Monday and the Oilers played with seven defenseman for the first time all season...Kyle O'Kane has missed the last two games due to an upper body injury...T.J. Caig played in his 100th game as an Oiler on Saturday...Tommy Mele appeared in his 200th professional game on Friday in Quad City...
