THE SERIES: It's the fifth and sixth meetings of the season between the two long-time rival cities of Amarillo and Corpus Christi. The clubs split the first four games of their season series. The Bulls won on home ice 5-4 in a shootout and 6-3, while the IceRays took a pair at American Bank Center 8-4 and 3-2 in overtime. Forward AJ Duggan leads the Bulls with seven helpers, while Will Harrison and Brady Crabtree each have two goals. Goaltender Anton Martinsson has both of the Bulls wins. Meantime, Wes Michaud has three goals and nine points. Five other players have two goals apiece.

HISTORICALLY SPEAKING: This is the 45th all time meeting between the Amarillo Bulls and the Corpus Christi IceRays. The Bulls hold the longtime edge 32-6-6 and at one point had won 10 in a row dating back to last season, but the IceRays have won the last two. In two of the four years the Bulls didn't allow the IceRays to post a regulation win (14-0-2). The two teams met in the 2013 Robertson Cup South Division Semi-finals that the Bulls were able to win in four games en route to a National Championship.

SOUTH DIVISION PLAYOFF UPDATE: The Corpus Christi IceRays are trying to firmly plant themselves in the Robertson Cup South Division playoffs. The IceRays are currently fourth and should the post season start today would host a first round series. It would be just the second time in five years that Corpus Christi advances to the playoffs. In two seasons, the IceRays missed out by a combined eight points.

The Amarillo Bulls trail the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees by just two points with 16 games remaining in the regular season for the sixth and final playoff spot in the South Division. Each team has the same amount of wins (17).
