Sacramento Republic FC to play UC Davis Men's Soccer Team in Friendly Match on March 14

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (February 11, 2015) - Sacramento Republic FC will return to Aggie Soccer Field to take on the UC Davis men's soccer team in a friendly match on Saturday, March 14. Kickoff is 3 p.m.

Republic FC last visited Aggie Soccer Field for a friendly match on March 16, 2014, in which Republic FC fell to the Aggies by a score of 1-0. The lone goal in the match came in the 65 minute when forward Sam Hoeck headed home an Aggie corner kick.

UC Davis finished its 2014 season with a 7-4-9 overall record and a 5-3-2 mark in Big West Conference play to finish second in the North Division and earn its fourth consecutive trip to the conference tournament. The Aggies set an NCAA record with 12 overtime matches -- all but two of those going to double overtime -- while tying another NCAA mark, and setting a new Big West record, with nine draws on the year.

The match is part of a triple-header at Aggie Soccer Field. The day begins with the UC Davis women's soccer team, which hosts Bay Area rival California, in an exhibition at 10 a.m., followed by the men's soccer alumni game at 12 p.m.

Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Tuesday, February 17 online at UCDavisAggies.com. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for children 17 and under or seniors 65 and older. Tickets may also be purchased by contacting the UC Davis Ticket Office at (530) 752-AGS1 (2471) on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Parking is free for the event. Tickets will not be available through Republic FC nor is it part of season ticket packages.

Republic FC will continue their preseason with a match tonight versus UC Santa Barbara at Harder Stadium in Santa Barbara. The team will then return to Sacramento for a pair of friendlies against the San Jose Earthquakes (MLS) on February 21 and the New York Cosmos (NASL) on February 28.
