ORLANDO - Feb. 10, 2015 - The Orlando Predators announced today that the team has retained veteran defensive back Anthony Shutt. Shutt returns for his third season with the Predators after leading Orlando in tackles in 2014.

"Anthony brings a dedicated and enthusiastic approach to football," said Head Coach Rob Keefe. "He is a team-first player who consistently gives maximum effort, both on the field and in the film room. I'm excited to see how he progresses in his second year playing in our system."

In his first season as a full-time starter, Shutt (6-0, 195, Florida A&M) registered 81.5 total tackles with two tackles for loss, six pass breakups and three fumble recoveries. He also posted two interceptions, one of which was returned 23 yards for a touchdown.

Shutt originally entered the Arena Football League as a rookie in 2013 with the Predators. Despite playing in only six games, he delivered 41 total tackles with five pass breakups, one interception and one forced fumble.

A local product from Jacksonville, Shutt played collegiately at Florida A&M. Over his four-year career, he recorded 94 tackles with 9.5 stops for loss with five pass breakups, two quarterback hurries, one forced fumble and one blocked kick.

The Orlando Predators 2015 season opener against the Philadelphia Soul is scheduled for 7:00pm on Sunday, March 29 at the Amway Center in downtown Orlando. Tickets are available for purchase by calling 844-455-PRED (7733).
