Sharks Add Rookie Lineman Ryan McGrath

JACKSONVILLE - The Jacksonville Sharks announced Monday that offensive lineman Ryan McGrath has been assigned to the team's roster on a one-year rookie contract. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 24-year-old McGrath (6'6", 325) comes to Jacksonville from Ohio University, where he was a fixture in the Bobcats' lineup along the offensive line. As a senior in 2013, McGrath served as Ohio's starter at right tackle, ranking third on the team with a total of 30 pancake blocks. He also saw consistent action in 2012, playing a total of 834 snaps over the course of 12 contests. That year, he racked up 78 pancakes and 95 knockdowns in the course of his blocking duties.

McGrath also saw action during his redshirt freshman and sophomore seasons, logging a total of 534 snaps played between 2010 and 2011. He redshirted during the 2009 campaign, his first season on Ohio's campus.

McGrath is a native of Duncansville, Pennsylvania, and majored in Sociology-Criminology at Ohio.
