February 6, 2015 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Binghamton Senators News Release

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators fell 3-2 to the visiting Hershey Bears pushing their losing streak to five straight games. Chris Conner notched a pair of goals to lead the Bears while Pheonix Copley stopped 29 of 31 shots faced to earn the victory.

Binghamton opened the scoring just shy of the seven minute mark of the first period when Garrett Thompson took a feed from Buddy Robinson and buried it under Copley's blocker for his third goal of the season. Hershey tied the game less than two minutes later when Casey Wellman's one-timer from Jim O'Brien trickled behind Binghamton's Scott Greenham. The Bears took a 2-1 lead with less than four minutes to play in the opening frame when Conner scored his first of the evening off a great backhanded feed from Chandler Stephenson.

The teams traded power-play chances in the middle frame, but neither found the back of the net keeping Binghamton's deficit at 2-1 heading into the final frame.

Conner increased Hershey's lead to 3-1 just 2:33 into the third period when he received a feed from Stanislav Galiev from behind Binghamton's net and sent it home for his 12th goal of the year. Colin Greening cut the Bears' lead to 3-2 just shy of the midway point after he tucked a centering feed from Cole Schneider underneath Copley's pads for his first American Hockey League goal of the year. Despite holding Hershey to just 13 shots combined over the final 40 minutes of play, the Bears held on for the one-goal victory.

Greenham finished with 22 saves for Binghamton in the losing effort.
