Rivermen's Morra Named SPHL Easton Player of Week

PEORIA - A five-point weekend has earned Southern Professional Hockey League's Easton Player of the Week honors for Peoria Rivermen left wing Steve Morra.

Morra collected three goals, two assists and a +4 rating during the three Rivermen road wins during the past weekend. The Bristol, R.I. native scored two of the goals in Saturday's 4-3 overtime victory at Pensacola, including his first game-winner of the season in the final minute of extra time. Morra also registered an assist on Thursday and a goal and an assist on Friday in a pair of 4-3 overtime wins at Louisiana.

The Rivermen are tied for the SPHL lead as they face the Huntsville Havoc on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Carver Arena. Friday's 7:05 p.m. face-off features two tickets for $20 on Coca-Cola Finally Friday.

Saturday's action begins at 6:20 as the teams complete a game suspended from Oct. 25 followed by the regularly scheduled contest at 7:05. Doors on Saturday will open at 5:30.

Sunday's 3:05 p.m. face-off is on PJ Star Family Fun Day with $1 admission for kids 12 and under to several sections of Carver Arena, and $5 tickets anywhere else. Kids meals (hot dog, chips, drink) are only $3 on Sunday, and the Family Fun Zone from 2:00 until 3:00 includes Fun on the Run inflatables, Wild Style Design face painting and Unique Twist and the Twisting Crew balloon creations. All fans are invited to skate with the Rivermen after the game.
