Herbst Shuts Down Sarnia as 67's Win Another at Home

January 30, 2015 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Ottawa 67's News Release

Liam Herbst recorded his first Ontario Hockey League shutout, making 21 saves and Kemptville native Nathan Todd scored twice as the 67's downed the Sarnia Sting 5-0 at TD Place Friday night.

Brendan Bell, Trent Mallette and Jeremiah Addison also scored for Ottawa, which rebounded from a heart-wrenching 5-4 overtime loss to the top-ranked Oshawa Generals at TD Place on Tuesday.

Dante Salituro picked up two more assists and has at least one point in six consecutive games.

Rookie Ben Fanjoy left the game during the dying minutes of the third after taking a blow to the head from Sting defenceman Joshua Chapman, who was ejected.

After the game, an angered 67's head coach Jeff Brown expressed anger with the late-game hit, saying he hopes to see those kinds of plays eliminated from hockey.

The 67's are on the road in Peterborough against the Petes on Saturday night before returning to home ice for Sunday's sold-out game at TD Place against the Erie Otters.

Fans are urged to take public transit to the game. A game-day 67's ticket gets a free ride to TD Place and back home, beginning three hours before the 3 p.m. opening face-off.
