Penguins Introduce New 50/50 System

January 30, 2015 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins News Release

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and the Penguins GOALS Foundation are excited to announce a new way for fans to win big at Penguins home games.

Starting this Saturday night, fans will be able to take part in our new and improved 50/50 drawing, utilizing the Pointstreak 5050 System. This automated system tracks and collects raffle purchases through touch screen kiosks, and mobile hand-held devices.

Through the use of wired or wireless technology, every transaction is electronically tallied and updated on display screens at the sales kiosks, creating excitement and letting fans see what that night's pot is up to. There is no limit on the amount of money the winner can take home, and other AHL teams utilizing the system have awarded prizes in excess of $5,000 on a single night.

The 50/50 raffle will run from the time gates open for each game until the puck drops to start the third period. The winning number will be announced during the third period of each home game.

The 50/50 kiosks will be located on the concourse of the Mohegan Sun Arena behind sections 106 and 116. Tickets can be purchased in the following denominations: 3 for $5.00, 10 for $10.00, or 40 for $20.00.

All proceeds from the nightly 50/50 will go to the Penguins GOALS Foundation, which provides opportunities for children to experience hockey firsthand, and provides assistance to local charities and non-profit entities.

The Penguins return from the AHL All-Star Break to face the Springfield Falcons on Friday, Jan. 30 at 7:00 p.m. Listen on WILK Newsradio or watch online at AHL Live.

Standing room only tickets remain for Saturday, Jan. 31 when the Penguins take on the Lehigh Valley Phantoms at 7:05 p.m. Individual tickets for all Penguins home games are available at the Mohegan Sun Arena Box Office, online at TicketMaster.com, or by calling 800-745-3000.

Penguins season tickets, including 12-game and 10-ticket flex vouchers, are available directly through the Penguins ticket offices at 570-208-7367.
