Game 49: January 30 vs. Tri-City
January 30, 2015 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Medicine Hat Tigers News Release
@ AMERICANS : These two teams do not see each other often, usually just once per season and tonight is no different. The Tigers visit Tr-City for the only time this year. The Tigers are 2-1-0-0 against the US Division this season, with their only defeat being in Portland in early December. The last time these two teams met was last season, a 3-2 shootout victory for the Tabbies.
TONIGHT'S MATCHUP:
The Americans have the most home victories within the US Division and 3rd in the Western Conference with 15 Tigers are 7-3-0-0 in their past 10 games, while the Americans are 6-4-0-0 Medicine Hat is only 2 goals away from scoring 200 on the season, if they do tonight, they will be the 4th team to do so this year

LAST GAME: The Tigers faced off against the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Tuesday night, Lethbridge has struggled as of late and the Tigers were primed to take advantage of it. However the Hurricanes showed some resilience and rattled off 3 quick goals in the first period, the Tigers would respond with 2 of their own, but trailed after 20 minutes. The final 40 minutes however, the Tigers showed their 1st place dominance. Getting 2 goals from Captain Tyler Lewington in the second period, one with 8 seconds left, gave the Tabbies the 1 goal lead. The final frame, the Tigers took over again scoring twice on their way to a 6-3 victory.
SHORTHANDED TIGERS: The Medicine Hat Tigers have been a part of some tough stretches this season, but the depth and effort the Tigers have shown while shorthanded has been nothing quite short of fantastic. The Tabbies have dressed 16-18 skaters almost a dozen times this season because of injury or suspension. With the acquiring of Kyle Burroughs and Dryden Hunt, the roster numbers increased, however the injuries still occurred but the wins kept coming. Medicine Hat have recalled defenceman Brad Forrest and forward Caleb Fantillo for this road trip because of a shorthanded bench, but look for the Tigers to continue to play their game and compete with their depth players.
