Chicago Mustangs News Release

Hoffman Estates, IL- The Chicago Mustangs, proud members of the Major Arena Soccer League (www.MASLSoccer.com), have announced a free-agent acquisition today.

Schaumburg native Ephraim Beard, no stranger to the area or the Sears Centre Arena, will make his Mustangs debut Saturday night against the Wichita B-52's.

"I feel very fortunate to be afforded this opportunity to play the game I love so close to home," Beard said.

Beard played his high school soccer for the Schaumburg Saxons and was highly regarded as one of the best players in the Midwest. He also played at Bradley University before signing with the Chicago Soul of the MISL in 2012-2013. His most recent experience saw Beard playing for the Seattle Impact (now Tacoma Stars) where he proved to be a threat, scoring 7 points in 8 games. More importantly, Beard's 2 best games this season came against the top 2 teams in the Pacific Division, Ontario and San Diego, which show he can perform against the top dogs. While the talent is there, Beard's mind-set and passion for the game fits in perfectly with that of the Mustangs locker room and he should gel with his new teammates rather quickly.

"I'm most excited about being able to train and play and be given an opportunity to get better every day," Beard said.
