Dashers Dominate Whalers, 8-2

Danville Dashers News Release


The Danbury Whalers made their first visit of the season to the David S. Palmer Arena. The Whalers struck for two goals in the first period. Ian Delong, and Ryan Patsch respectively scored the two Danbury goals. However, the Dashers scored two goals of their own in the first period. The first goal came off of the stick of Andrew Harrison, with an assist from Aleh Shypitsyn. The Second Dasher goal was tallied on a wrap-around by Gehrett Sargis.

The Dashers exploded with offense in the second period, scoring three goals. The Dashers took the lead on a beauty of a goal by Andrew Harrison. Then, instantly after the Harrison goal Daniel Turgeon shot the Dashers into a two goal lead on a wrist shot the beat Mike Pearless. The Turgeon and Harrison combination wasn't done yet though, later the period Harrison and Turgeon had a 2 on 1, where Harrison threw the puck across for Turgeon and he didn't miss. The Harrison and Turgeon duo gave the Dashers a 5-2 lead heading into the third.

The Dashers never took a look in the rear view mirror, scoring three goals in the third and blowing the Whalers out 8-2. Justin Brausen started off the scoring in the third for the Dashers, and then Wehebe Darge and Gehrett Sargis both tallied goals for Danville to get the 8-2 final. The Whalers will be in Dayton tomorrow night, and the Dashers will be at home taking on the Steel City Warriors. Then on Saturday the Dashers and Whalers will go at it again from Port Huron, Michigan, in a neutral site game.
