Minnesota Assigns Goaltender Johan Gustafsson

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - The Alaska Aces announced today that the Minnesota Wild of the National Hockey League have assigned goaltender Johan Gustafsson (joe-HAHN) to the Aces from the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League.

Gustafsson, 22, is expected to be available to suit up for the Aces tomorrow, in a rematch at 7:15 p.m. (GCI/KFQD) against the Colorado Eagles at Sullivan Arena.

The 6-foot-2, 203 pound goaltender earned a victory in his only appearance with Alaska this season, Dec. 5 at Stockton with 24 saves. He ranks as Iowa's all-time leader in multiple goaltending categories, including games (66), minutes (3,669) and saves (1,737).

Gustafsson has a record of 19-37-4 in his career with Iowa and previously backstopped Team Sweden to gold medals at the World Junior Championships (2011-12) and in the World Championships (2012-13).

He was recalled last season to Minnesota and carries 131 games of experience in the Swedish Elite League with Farjestad BK and Lulea HF, with a 32-33-4 record, 13 shutouts and 2.25 goals-against-average.

Gustafsson was selected by Minnesota in the sixth round (159th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
