Stingrays Fall Short in Action-Packed Contest against Everblades

Estero, FL - The South Carolina Stingrays (18-17-1-6) fell to the Florida Everblades (27-7-1-3) 4-1 at Germain Arena Wednesday night. Forward Braden Pimm scored the lone tally for South Carolina.

The Stingrays opened the scoring 7:53 into the first period off a tic-tac-toe passing play to find Pimm alone on top of the crease of Everblades netminder Andy Iles (W, 27 saves on 28 shots) to bury his 12 goal of the season. Forwards Andrew Rowe and Wayne Simpson picked up assists. The Everblades responded at 16:20 when forward Mike Aviani tipped a rolling puck past the outstretched pad of Stingrays goaltender Adam Morrison (L, 26 saves on 30 shots).

In the second period, the action picked up with end-to-end rushes by both teams and the Everblades pulled ahead at 14:26 off a tally from forward Adam Brace.

The Everblades rolled away in the third period with two goals 33 seconds apart off the sticks of forward Matt Marquardt (11:40) and defenseman Mike Little (12:13). The Stingrays finished the game 0-for-6 on the power play while the Everblades went 0-for-2.

The Stingrays take on the Orlando Solar Gears on Friday, January 30 at 7:30 p.m. at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida for game three of a four-game road trip. The journey concludes on Saturday, February 7 against the Greenville Road Warriors at 7:00 p.m. the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina
