Sky Blue FC News Release

MORRISTOWN, N.J. (Jan. 28, 2015) - Sky Blue FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) announced today that it has waived Japanese midfielder Nanase Kiryu.

"We believe Nana had a good developmental experience in 2014, but she did not have enough time to adjust as well as she had hoped," Sky Blue FC technical director and head coach Jim Gabarra stated. "We support her move back to Beleza and wish her good luck."

Kiryu, 25, made 12 starts in 2014, appearing in 16 overall matches during the season. Playing a total of 909 minutes, Kiryu registered one assist and 11 shots on the year. At the conclusion of the NWSL season, Kiryu was loaned to NTV Beleza in the Nadeshiko League, where she has played since 2007.

Sky Blue FC will be playing its sixth professional season this year at Yurcak Field, which is located on the campus of Rutgers University in Piscataway, New Jersey. The team will play a 20-match split of 10 home and away games in 2015, with the NWSL taking a brief two-week break during the group stages of the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup in Canada.

Sky Blue FC will open its 2015 season on the road when it plays FC Kansas City at Sporting Park on Sunday, April 12th. The New Jersey side will then make its home debut at Yurcak Field the following weekend on Saturday, April 18th, hosting the Houston Dash.

2015 Sky Blue FC season tickets are available now, with packages starting as low as $120. Make sure you catch all of the world class NWSL action this season at Yurcak Field by calling 888-SBFC-TIX (888-723-2849) or placing an order online.
