Colorado Eagles News Release

STOCKTON, Calif. -The Colorado Eagles (27-13-0-0) won their ninth game in a row as they shutout the Stockton Thunder (13-27-1-0), 3-0, at Stockton Arena on Saturday night. This nine-game winning streak is the Eagles third longest winning streak in the history of the team; Colorado has not seen a nine-game winning streak since the 2006-07 season.

The first goal didn't come until 8:24 into the second period when Eagles forward Derek Rodwell caught a cross-slot pass from fellow forward Vitalijs Pavlovs and beat Stockton netminder Kent Simpson to gain the 1-0 advantage over the Thunder.

At the 6:34 mark of the third frame, Eagles forward Taylor Vause tipped a shot, from the high slot, by defenseman Collin Bowman to take the 2-0 lead over Stockton. With 4:21 left in the third, Eagles captain Trent Daavettila logged his second point of the game with a power-play goal to make it a 3-0 game. Colorado goalie Clarke Saunders shut down all 25 of Stockton's 25 shots to record his second shutout of the season 3-0.
