Aces Sign D Scott Warner, Claim G Troy Redmann off Waivers

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - The Alaska Aces announced today that the team has signed free agent defenseman Scott Warner and claimed goaltender Troy Redmann off waivers from the Colorado Eagles.

Warner, 26, is expected to suit up for the Aces tonight and wear #5 in a 7:15 p.m. game (GCI/KFQD) against the Idaho Steelheads at Sullivan Arena.

The 5-foot-9, 174 pound defenseman suited up in 129 career games in college with the University of Alaska-Anchorage (NCAA) and Army and earned 40 points (14g-26) while serving as captain of the Seawolves as a 2011-12 junior. That season, Warner earned a career-high 15 points and 13 assists, skating alongside current Aces defensemen Quinn Sproule, Brad Gorham and forward Tyler Currier.

Warner made his pro debut with the Stockton Thunder in the 2013 Kelly Cup Playoffs, suiting up in one game.

Redmann, 28, last suited up in two games this season with Colorado and is 2-0-0 with a .966 save percentage and 1.00 goals-against-average. The 6-foot-1, 170 pound goaltender and native of Brea, Calif. has appeared in six career ECHL games with the Eagles and Ontario Reign, posting a 5-1-0 record, one shutout, 1.48 goals against average and .947 save percentage.

SATURDAY: SUPERHERO WEEKEND FINALE

The Aces host Superhero Weekend tonight at Sullivan Arena, in conjunction with the 7:15 p.m. game against Idaho inviting families to dress in costume and take home an array of prizes and giveaways. All fans dressed in costume receive a free GCI Video on Demand Pass, while the grand prize winner of an intermission costume contest will receive a free helicopter "Flightseeing Tour" ride from Era Helicopters. The Aces will also wear "Superhero themed" specialty jerseys, available for purchase in a live auction after the game.

The Aces are the official ECHL affiliate of the St. Louis Blues and Minnesota Wild of the NHL.
