Mill Rats Win 4th in a Row

(Saint John, NB): The Saint John Mill Rats won their 4th straight game, beating the Moncton Miracles, 116-111, at the Moncton Coliseum.
The Mill Rats got a strong first quarter to lead 33-22 and led 52-47 at the half. Saint John built a lead as high as 12 in the third quarter, but Moncton rallied again and tied the game at 78-78 within a minute to go. But again the Mill Rats connected from the perimeter, a Jamie Vanderbeken 3-pointer followed by a Mayhane long two, made it 83-78 at the end of the third.
The fourth quarter was nip and tuck until the final seconds. With Saint John leading 113-111, Darin Mency and Kenny Jones made 3 free throws and the Mill Rats defense held the final possession for the win.
Johnny Mayhane torched his former team for 31 points, Darin Mency and Kenny Jones scored 23, Jeremy Williams 15, and Raheem Singleton 10. Stanley Robinson scored 25 for Moncton.
Saint John improves to 11-13 while Moncton drops to 6-15
The Mill Rats return to Harbour Station this Saturday in a rematch with the Moncton Miracles at 7pm.
