January 22, 2015 - International League (IL1)
Syracuse Mets News Release
The Syracuse Chiefs are excited to announce that Friday night's Hot Stove Baseball Dinner at the Oncenter has been officially sold out. All 600 available seats have been purchased, marking an all-time record for the event, now in its 55th annual year.
"We were hoping for around 500 people this year", said Chiefs general manager Jason Smorol, "but we can never doubt the passion of Syracuse fans! I love seeing the Chiefs' faithful back on board for 2015. Let's have a great start to this season!"
The Hot Stove Baseball Dinner was moved this year to the Oncenter to accommodate a larger crowd. Those in attendance will see special guest speakers such as legendary major-league pitcher Tommy John and Chiefs manager Billy Gardner, Jr. Fans can also participate in a silent auction, featuring memorabilia including game-worn Chiefs jerseys, a Bucky Dent signed bat and autographed baseballs from Bernie Williams, Goose Gossage and Patrick Corbin, among other items.
Bidding in the silent auction, for those present, will take place from 5 to 7:10 p.m. John will sign autographs at the Oncenter from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., before his speech.
