Nine Sea Dogs Make Midterm Rankings for 2015 NHL Draft

SAINT JOHN - Nine Saint John Sea Dogs players have been named to the NHL Central Scouting Service's midterm rankings for North American skaters for the 2015 NHL Draft.

That's the most players listed of any team in the Canadian Hockey League.

Defencemen Jakub Zboril, Thomas Chabot, Jack vanBoekel, Bailey Webster and Jason Bell, along with forwards Adam Marsh, Nathan Noel, Samuel Dove-McFalls and Spencer Smallman are among 212 North American skaters on the list.

Zboril, 17, is the highest-ranked QMJHL player on the list at 11th. The Brno, Czech Republic, native has eight goals and 22 points in 33 games in his first season as a Sea Dog.

Chabot, 17, is ranked 15th. The Ste-Marie-de-Beauce, Quebec, native has seven goals and 26 points in 43 games in his second season with Saint John.

Marsh, 17, is listed 42nd. The Chicago product has 18 goals and 32 points in 43 games in his rookie campaign with the Sea Dogs.

Noel, 17, came in 55th. In his second season, the St. John's-native leads the Sea Dogs in points scoring with 13 goals and 38 points in 45 games.

Dove-McFalls, 17, is ranked 73rd. The centre from Montreal has 11 goals and 22 points in 43 games in his second season with Saint John.

VanBoekel, 18, is listed 126th. The Woodstock, Ontario, native has nine assists in 37 games during his first season with Saint John.

Smallman, 18, is ranked 146th. The Fredericton winger is in his third season with the Sea Dogs, totaling 17 goals and 37 points in 44 games. He also ranks fourth in the QMJHL with a +24 rating.

Webster, 17, checks in at 148th overall. The Kelvin Grove, PEI, native has three assists in 34 games in his first full season with Saint John.

Bell, 17, is listed 196th. The Montreal-native came to the Sea Dogs in a trade with the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles earlier this month. He has 11 goals and 27 points in 45 games in his second QMJHL season.
