Smokies Release Start Times for 2015 Home Games

KODAK - The Tennessee Smokies have announced their scheduled home game start times for the 2015 campaign at Smokies Stadium, with 7:05 p.m. first pitches set for Monday through Saturday, with five exceptions throughout the season. Sunday tilts, meanwhile, are slated for 2:05 p.m. starts in April, May and June, and 5:05 p.m. in July and August. The club will begin their 2015 home slate with a special 11:30 a.m. first pitch on Wednesday, April 15, while Opening Night with take place on Thursday, April 16 at 7:05 p.m.

There will be five exceptions to the Monday through Saturday start times in 2015 at Smokies Stadium, including the club's home opener on Wednesday, April 15, with a special 11:30 a.m. scheduled first pitch as part of a Safe Kids Health Awareness Day. Opening Night will then take place the next night on Thursday, April 16, with a regularly scheduled 7:05 p.m. start time. There will be two other Safe Kids Awareness Days in the month of May, including on Tuesday, May 12 as part of a day/night doubleheader, as well as on Wednesday, May 20. The club will also have a pair of noon start times this upcoming season, with those taking place on Wednesday, April 29, and Wednesday, June 10.

Gates will once again open an hour prior to first pitch this year, beginning at approximately 6:05 p.m. during Monday through Saturday home tilts, as well as around 1:05 p.m. on Sundays in April, May and June, and 4:05 p.m. on Sundays in July and August. Season ticket holders will also enjoy early entry again this season, and may enter Smokies Stadium one hour and 30 minutes prior to that day's scheduled first pitch.

A complete promotional schedule, including fireworks dates, giveaways, appearances and other special events will be released at a later date, while an announcement on single-game ticket sales will also be available in the near future.

The Smokies begin the 2015 campaign on the road against the Mississippi Braves, the Double-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves, before returning home to Kodak for a five-game set with the Pensacola Blue Wahoos, the Double-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday, April 15 at 11:30 a.m. Opening Night is set for the very next evening on Thursday, April 16 against the Blue Wahoos, with a scheduled 7:05 p.m. first pitch.
