Grizzlies Extend Unbeaten Streak to 7 in Shootout with Ontario

West Valley City, Utah - The Ontario Reign (23-11-2-4) defeated the Utah Grizzlies (18-15-4-3) 3-2 in a shootout Monday afternoon at Maverik Center before 6,383 fans for the matinee.
The Grizzlies earn a standings point in the contest to go unbeaten in seven-straight games at 5-0-2-0.
Utah goaltender Ryan Faragher made a career-high 41 saves in the game as he stopped 41 of 43 Ontario shots.
After Ontario took a 1-0 lead on a shorthanded goal 13:33 into the first period, the Grizzlies responded with two in the second period.
Michael Pelech picked up a puck at the Utah blue line and scored his team leading 19th goal of the season on a two-on-one to tie the game 3:19 into the second.
The Grizzlies took a 2-1 lead with 4:01 left in the second period as Ryan Hayes tipped in a Jacob Johnston blast on the power-play. Brandon Yip also picked up an assist as the Grizzlies scored 16 seconds into the power-play.
Ontario tied the game early in the third period forcing overtime and then won the shootout 2-0.

Friday, January 23: The Grizzlies open a 2-game series when the Bakersfield Condors make their first trip to Utah since last year's playoffs.
Saturday, January 24: Guns N Hoses Night. The Grizzlies will be wearing themed jerseys that will be auctioned off live after the game.
