HALFWAY THERE

The Chicago Wolves entered the second half of their season last week, earning three of a possible six points but just one against division rivals Lake Erie and Rockford. Going into a four-game week on the road that includes trips to Rockford, Grand Rapids, and Texas, the Wolves rank third in the Midwest Division and seventh in the Western Conference. While the IceHogs currently sit nine points ahead of the Wolves, the Griffins sit one point behind Chicago with a game in hand and the Stars trail by two points. The Wolves have won four of their last six road contests and will have the chance to avenge their two losses during that stretch this week as they visit the MetroCentre (Rockford) and Van Andel Arena (Grand Rapids) on Monday and Wednesday, respectively.

WOLVES HEADLINERS

--- SHANE HARPER: Recorded goals on Wednesday and Friday, the second of which was his career-high 14th goal in the Wolves' tilt against Lake Erie ... Ranks second on the team in goals, and is now only two behind leader TY RATTIE ... Sits fifth on the team with 20 points in 39 games ... Has led the team to a 12-2-0-0 record when he scores ... On pace to better his career-high 33 points from last season, his first with the Wolves ... Has accrued 94 points (47G, 47A) in 245 career AHL games with Adirondack (2009-13) and Chicago (2013-present)

--- JEREMY WELSH: Posted two points (G, A) last week, including the game-tying power-play tally in Saturday's third period to send the game to overtime ... Has collected 10 points (4G, 6A) in his last 14 games following a 10-game scoreless drought ... Ranks fourth on the Wolves with 21 points (10G, 11A) in 39 games and became the fourth player on the team to hit double digits in goals this season ... Is five points away from tying his career high in points (14-12-26), set in 69 games his rookie season in 2012-13 with Charlotte

--- MAGNUS PAAJARVI: Potted his first goal with the Wolves on Saturday, an unassisted tally to open scoring ... After being held scoreless in his first three games with the team, has posted three points (G, 2A) in his last four tilts ... The goal was his first in the AHL since Dec. 14, 2012, with Oklahoma City ... Has accrued a +2 plus/minus rating and 19 shots in seven games since being loaned by St. Louis (NHL) on Dec. 30 ... Has accrued 48 points (12G, 36A) in 79 career AHL games with Oklahoma City (2011-13) and Chicago (2014-present)

--- MATT CLIMIE: Started two of the team's three contests last week, posting a 1-1-0 record, 2.02 goals-against average, and .917 save percentage ... Pitched his second shutout of the season on Wednesday in Iowa, his ninth in a Wolves uniform to take sole possession of second place among all-time franchise netminders ... Ranks or is tied for second in all six franchise goaltending categories ... Has compiled a 9-9-3 record, 2.37 goals-against average, and .911 save percentage in 23 appearances this season ... Has posted his best stats of the season in January, going 2-2-0 with a 2.00 goals-against average and .931 save percentage

--- JORDAN BINNINGTON: Saw his first full 60 minutes of action in net since Dec. 26 in Saturday's shootout loss ... Allowed two goals, including one power-play tally, on 21 shots through regulation and overtime and 1 of 2 in the shootout ... Has accrued a 10-6-2 record, 2.41 goals-against average, and .907 save percentage in 18 games for the Wolves this season ... Has suffered three consecutive losses after going a perfect 3-0-0 in his three starts previous

WOLF TRACKS

--- With last week's losses, the Wolves dropped below .500 against the Midwest Division (9-10-3-1). They are 0-4-1-1 in their last six intra-division contests, with their last win coming Dec. 26 at Milwaukee.

--- The Wolves welcomed 15,225 fans to Allstate Arena on Saturday, a season-high crowd. That turnout moved the team past the 7 million mark for all-time for attendance.

--- The Wolves peppered Rockford with shots on Saturday, launching a season-high 44. The +22 shot differential was the second-highest of the season for Chicago and was the team's largest surplus in the two teams' histories of playing each other.

--- Saturday's game marked just the third time this season that the Wolves have earned a point when trailing after two periods. Chicago is 0-14-2-1 when down after 40 minutes and is the only team in the league to not have earned a win in that situation this season. It was also only the fourth time this season they have lost when scoring first (14-2-1-1).

--- Chicago's season-long streak of not going to the shootout ended in Game 39 as 67 minutes was not enough to decide their tilt against Rockford. Previously the longest stretch in a season without a shootout for the Wolves was 16 games, set in 2006-07.

--- Center PAT CANNONE skated in his 250th AHL game last week. He is currently tied with TY RATTIE atop the Wolves with 25 points, on pace for a career high.

--- Right wing ADAM BURISH made his Wolves debut in Friday's loss to Lake Erie. He was held scoreless and registered two shots in the outing.

--- This week features the Wolves' first and only trip to Cedar Park Center this season. After sweeping the 2012-13 series in Texas, Chicago was winless there last year, losing by scores of 4-1 and 2-1 to the eventual Calder Cup champions. Defenseman JANI HAKANPAA recorded the team's only goals there, two of the four he scored last season.

Saturday, Jan. 17

Rockford 3, (at) Chicago 2 (SO)

--- Forward JEREMY WELSH's third-period goal forced extra time Saturday night at Allstate arena, but Rockford scored the lone goal in the Wolves' first shootout of the season to get the win before 15,225 fans

--- Left wing MAGNUS PAAJARVI registered his first goal with the Wolves to stake the team to a 1-0 lead in the first period

--- Goaltender JORDAN BINNINGTON stopped 19 of 21 shots he faced during regulation and overtime as well as 1 of 2 in the shootout

Friday, Jan. 16

Lake Erie 5, (at) Chicago 1

--- Lake Erie scored three goals in the first period to set the tone for the Midwest Division game at Allstate Arena

--- Right wing SHANE HARPER scored his AHL career-high 14th goal to cut the margin to 3-1 and was assisted by PAT CANNONE and MAGNUS PAAJARVI

--- Goaltender MATT CLIMIE stopped 24 of 28 shots in the loss

Tuesday, Jan. 13

Chicago 3, (at) Iowa 0

--- The Wolves reeled off 38 shots against Iowa and returned home with a 3-0 win, extending their 12-game point streak at Wells Fargo Arena

--- Right wing SHANE HARPER opened scoring with a second-period power-play goal while center PHILIP McRAE and left wing JOHN McCARTHY (EN) added insurance markers in the third period

--- Goaltender MATT CLIMIE earned his second whitewash of the season and ninth in a Wolves uniform, making 20 saves to claim sole possession of second place for shutouts among all-time franchise goaltenders
