South Carolina Stingrays News Release

The South Carolina Stingrays took on the Toledo Walleye and Indy Fuel during a three-game in three-day home weekend last week to open a five-game homestand at the North Charleston Coliseum, earning a week record of 0-2-0-1, an overall standing of 17-14-1-6 and are currently on a five-game winless streak (0-3-0-2).

The Stingrays welcomed the Walleye on Friday with the visiting team prevailing 4-3. Forward Andrew Rowe scored in his first game back from the American Hockey League (AHL) and rookie Caleb Herbert gave the Stingrays a 2-1 advantage before the Walleye scored three-straight markers to eventually seal the victory. Forward Wayne Simpson pulled the contest within one in the third period.

On Saturday, the Stingrays and Fuel collided for the first time in team history on Charleston County Environmental Patrick Gaul Bobblehead Night with Indy taking at 2-1 shootout decision. Rowe scored the lone tally for the Stingrays. The Stingrays have now appeared in an ECHL season-high nine shootout games this season (3-6 record).

The Walleye returned Sunday afternoon to take down the Stingrays 7-2 in front of 5,096 on Frozen Day and Crews Subaru Family Day with a Health First Postgame Skate. Herbert and forward Andrew Ammon lit the lamp for the Stingrays.
