Tyler Graovac scored the overtime winner on a penalty shot for the Iowa Wild (15-23-1-1), handing the Lake Erie Monsters (16-16-3-3) a 4-3 overtime loss Sunday at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa. The Monsters earn one point in the standings with the overtime loss. Sam Henley, Colin Smith, and Andrew Agozzino scored for the Monsters. Max Noreau registered two assists for the Monsters, elevating his team-leading point total to 28. With the overtime loss, the Monsters took three of six possible points in their three-in-three weekend, and they conclude their five-game road trip with a 2-2-1-0 record. The Monsters host San Antonio at Quicken Loans Arena Thursday at 7:00 p.m.

Iowa opened the scoring 35 seconds into the action when Jason Gregroire snapped in a Jordan Schroeder rebound to give the Wild a 1-0 lead. Just 2:04 later, Marc Hagel dragged a puck to the front of the Monsters net and slipped a low shot past Reto Berra to give the Wild a 2-0 lead.

Following a fight off the ensuing faceoff between the Monsters Duncan Siemens and Iowa's Alex Gudbranson, the Monsters responded with a goal at 3:11 of the opening frame, cutting the Iowa lead to 2-1. Max Noreau put a shot to the net, and through traffic, Sam Henley tapped the puck over the line for his third goal of the season.

With the Monsters attempting to kill off a four-minute double-minor penalty early in the second period, Iowa regained a two-goal lead when Jonathan Blum scored on a slap shot from the left point at 4:07 of the middle frame. Iowa led 3-1 until Colin Smith pulled the Monsters back to within a goal at 12:26 of the third period. Ben Street fired a puck toward the net, and Smith jammed away at it to knock in his ninth tally of the season. Duncan Siemens also assisted on the goal.

Andrew Agozzino tied the game at 3-3 with the only goal of the third period for the Monsters. Agozzino batted in a rebound at the side of the net for his eighth goal of the season, assisted by Mike Sgarbossa and Noreau at 11:20 of the third period on a Monsters power play.

At 1:32 of overtime, Graovac was awarded a penalty shot, cruised in an flipped a backhand past Monsters goalie Reto Berra to pick up the victory for the Wild.

Berra stopped 28 of 32 shots in the Monsters net; his record is 1-1-1. John Curry stopped 33 of 36 Monsters shots in improving his overall mark to 8-7-0.
