Binghamton Senators News Release

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators earned a victory in their final game in three consecutive nights with a 6-3 win over their host the Springfield Falcons. Shane Prince and Buddy Robinson each netted a pair of goals while Peter Mannino turned aside 34 of 37 shots faced to earn his first victory in a Binghamton Senators uniform.

Following a scoreless opening period, Robinson notched his first of the evening when he beat starting Falcon's netminder Anton Forsberg for his fifth goal of the season 8:40 into the second period. Less than two minutes later, David Marshall tallied his first of the season following a great hustle play from Garrett Thompson to make it 2-0 Binghamton. Just past the 12 minute mark, Robinson grabbed his second of the game when he skated down the right wing side and beat Forsberg clean over the glove hand. Springfield cut the B-Sens lead to 3-1 when Frederic St. Denis beat Mannino for his third of the season with less than seven minutes to play. However, Binghamton managed to regain their three-goal advantage when Prince buried his first of the evening on the power play with 40 seconds remaining.

Springfield managed to notch two unanswered goals to begin the third period cutting Binghamton's lead to 4-3, but Matt Puempel and Prince each added empty-net goals in the closing moments to move the final score to 6-3 Binghamton.

Forsberg allowed four goals on 17 shots over two periods before Oscar Dansk came in to play in relief stopping all nine shots faced. Binghamton improves to 17-18-3-1 with the victory.
