Sonny Night in Plymouth: Plymouth Whalers Beat Sudbury, 7-1, on Saturday

PLYMOUTH - Sonny Milano scored two goals with an assist as the Plymouth Whalers defeated the Sudbury Wolves, 7-1, in an Ontario Hockey League game played Saturday at Compuware Arena.

Besides Milano's pair (11-12), the Whalers also got goals from Connor Sills (5), Mathew Campagna (13), Victor Crus Rydberg (5), Cullen Mercer (6) and Will Bitten (9). Ryan Moore and Gianluca Curcuruto added two assists each.

Plymouth improves to 14-24-2-1.

The Whalers extended a 2-1 lead in the second period to 4-1 on Milano's pair of goals 45 seconds apart later in the period at 17:51 and 18:36. Plymouth closed the scoring in the third period with three unanswered goals in the third period

Michael Pezzetta scored the lone Sudbury goal, his fifth of the year. The Wolves are now 7-33-1-1.

Plymouth is back in action on Monday afternoon at 2 pm against Saginaw at Compuware Arena (2 pm, 88.1FM WSDP).
